The best advice: D-I-Y advice!

“My best piece of advice is to take your own advice. The advice you give to others may be applied with good effect to your own life. Listen to others, but also to yourself. In this way you gain the ability to think for yourself, a handy attribution when sizing up people and situations or making decisions.”

These are the striking words of Marilyn Komechak who wanted to reflect to everyone, particularly to those who give advice, to not neglect themselves. Every person in this world has their own piece of advice for their love ones or friends but unfortunately they can’t do it to themselves. Why is it so?

Generally speaking, many people are suffering from this problem. Whenever they give their best counsel, they feel as if they are very intelligent and all-understanding, but when it comes to themselves, vulnerability strikes them especially when they experience the same scenario.

One possible reason: while they are not yet experiencing the trouble, different solutions can come out from their mind because nothing is urging them to decide. Compare it when they are already experiencing the problem which they can’t think quickly; it is as if there is a time bomb exploding anytime.
