Forgiveness heals the heart

Filed under: Articles, Science — Tags: , Dos @ 1:25 am

Health is synonymous of our physical body. Whenever we think about being healthy, nutritious foods, dietary supplements and proper exercise comes to mind. But do you know that our health is connected with our emotions too?Based on studies, an emotion of happiness surely makes us healthier. But happiness is not the only emotion, there are many more and some of those makes us miserable. A good example is anger.

Anger is normal to us and it shows that our emotional health is, well, healthy. According to psychologist Charles Spielberger, anger is “an emotional state that varies in intensity from mild irritation to intense fury and rage,” He also said that anger can be destructive when it gets out of control. Problems at home and work are the usual signs of anger gone mad.

But how can we avoid anger? The answer is forgiveness.

Forgiveness is the mental process of ceasing the feeling of anger against another person. Studies have shown that forgiving someone causes positive effects on ourselves. It causes lower levels of physical pain,

anger, and depression. In the study, people with chronic back pain felt less pain and anxiety when they used meditation to help them forgive and release their anger.

Also, researchers from the University of Tennessee found found out that people who forgive more easily had a lower blood pressure and heart rate than people who have unforgiving hard hearts. Also those who easily forgives has a tendency to make better relationships as they look for ways to resolve the conflict.

Moreover, with forgiveness comes a better immune system.

So, avoid being angry, it causes stroke and heart attacks, you know?
